How Feecount calculators work, and where their numbers come from.

How the calculators are built

Each calculator runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere. Results are rounded only for display, and every page shows the formula it uses and a worked example you can check by hand.

How fees are checked and dated

Every fee on Feecount comes from the platform’s own published fee page, not from other calculators or blog posts. We open the official page, copy the rate for US sellers into the calculator, and record the date we checked it. That date appears next to every result as “fees last checked”.

How the math works

Percentage fees are worked out on the amount the platform says it charges on (for example, eBay charges on the item, shipping and sales tax together), then the fixed per-order fee is added. Each fee is rounded to the nearest cent, the way platforms show it on a statement. Profit is what you receive minus what you paid for the item and for shipping.

Reverse calculators (“what to charge to receive $X”) divide your target plus the fixed fee by one minus the percentage rate, then pick the lowest whole-cent price whose fee, rounded to the cent, still leaves you the full target.

What we leave out

We only publish a rate we have read on the platform’s own page. Rates that apply to a single account (custom pricing, negotiated rates, promotions) are not built in. Where a fee depends on your own choice, such as an eBay ad rate or a Depop boost, the calculator asks you for it.

When fees change

Platforms change their fees a few times a year. We recheck each fee page and update the “last checked” date when we do. If you see a fee that no longer matches the platform’s page, please tell us through the contact page.
